We have invented a full size Victorian Water Wheel.

Imagine watching water flowing over the rotating wheel at a lazy 2 R.P.M. It is very therapeutic to listen to the sound of flowing water.

Petron Welding have been established for 32 years in the steel fabricating industry and are now manufacturing this brand new product from our base in Maidstone.

This water feature would look great in most environments; large gardens, free standing or on the side of old houses, Hotels, Garden Centres, Pubs or Parks or Offices.

This overshot water wheel is so called because it relies on weight of water to turn the wheel. This water is supplied from the tank and is pumped via a pipe to the top of the wheel.

The wheel assembly can be set up anywhere there is access to a 110V or 240V electricity supply.

The whole assembly weighs about 1100 kg empty and measures from ground to top of pipe 2900 mm.

These wheels are fabricated from mild steel then hot dipped galvanised and painted a colour of choice.

Each wheel can be personslised with a private or company name.

SAFETY

The wheel has been manufactured and designed with safety in mind.

1. The wheel is mounted in the tank with a safe gap of 80-90mm between wheel spokes and bearing support stools/tank sides, so as to reduce finger/hand pinch points.
2. Because the wheel rotates in water this acts as a natural brake and consequently keeps the wheel turning at a slow 2 R.P.M. in one direction only.
3. Each wheel assembly comes with a choice of ornate railings, one 3150mm x 4650mm, or a smaller guard 2000 x 4000mm. Physical barriers are there to prevent children or unauthorised people from coming into contact with the rotating wheel.
4. There is also an emergency brake which is a low maintenance spring loaded design, operated by pulling a cable which will stop the wheel dead.
5. When not in use the wheel can be padlocked off and will not move in any direction.

MAINTENANCE

The wheel and assembly have been designed with very minimal maintenance requirements:-

Keep tank clear of debris, touch up any damage to paintwork.

The pump is of an industrial type and is lube sealed for life; just keep the pump filter free of debris.

The water wheel bearings will just require periodic greasing.

This wheel will give you many years of trouble free pleasure.
